Description

Here’s how dermaplaning can potentially enhance chemical peel results:

  1. Enhanced Penetration of Chemical Peel: Dermaplaning removes the top layer of dead skin cells and fine facial hair, creating a smoother surface. This can allow chemical peels to penetrate more effectively, as they can reach the deeper layers of the skin without the barrier of dead skin cells.
  2. Even Skin Tone: Dermaplaning can help address uneven skin tone, while chemical peels are also effective for improving pigmentation issues. Combining the two treatments may result in a more even complexion and reduced hyperpigmentation.
  3. Smooth Texture: Dermaplaning contributes to a smoother skin texture by eliminating rough, uneven areas. Chemical peels, which exfoliate at a deeper level, can further refine the skin’s texture.
  4. Combined Exfoliation: Both procedures promote exfoliation, but they target different depths of the skin. Dermaplaning works on the surface, while chemical peels penetrate deeper. Using them together can provide comprehensive exfoliation.
  5. Reduced Fine Lines: Dermaplaning may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and when followed by a chemical peel, the combination can potentially enhance the overall anti-aging effects.

How It Works

Revepeel Enlighten inhibits melanogenesis by paralyzing melanin production. It exfoliates the upper surface of the skin and is enhanced by lightening agents, and during the 2-step prescription peel that takes about 20-35 minutes, your discolored pigmentation is brought to the surface, which increases cell turnover. The peel goes even deeper to inhibit further hyperpigmentation. This treatment is done at our office, then the peel is left on the face for about 8-12 hours, where you can continue your aftercare at home.

Revepeel Enlighten Aftercare

Once you are home, and then there is a 28-day home care regimen to work against discoloration or skin blemishes. Diligent aftercare is necessary for optimal results, and your aesthetician will go over your at-home follow-up treatment plan to ensure you are prepared for what to expect.

The 3 after-care steps following Revepeel Enlighten include:

  1. Apply Continuous Depigmentation: Your skin will begin to flake and peel about 1-2 days after treatment, which will last for about 5-10 days. The Continuous Depigmentation system is applied twice a day for 4 weeks to see full results.
  2. Soothe & Protect: To achieve optimal results, it’s crucial to protect the skin and prevent sun damage. The all-inclusive 3-step post-care system soothes any irritation and heals any wounds.
  3. Retouch & Maintenance: To retouch dark spots, you should revisit us after week 4. Your skin lightening regimen should continue for the next 4-6 months before having another Enlighten treatment.

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the surface of the skin, primarily the face, to remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, often referred to as “peach fuzz.” Here are some of the potential benefits of dermaplaning:
  1. Exfoliation: Dermaplaning effectively removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells, promoting exfoliation. This can result in smoother, brighter skin.
  2. Hair Removal: The procedure also removes fine facial hair, which can make the skin feel smoother and can enhance the application of makeup.
  3. Product Penetration: By removing the outer layer of dead skin, dermaplaning allows for better penetration of skincare products. This can enhance the effectiveness of serums, moisturizers, and other topical treatments.
  4. Even Skin Tone: Dermaplaning may help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, and certain light acne scars by removing the top layer of damaged skin.
  5. Instant Results: Unlike some other skin treatments, dermaplaning typically provides immediate results. You may notice a more radiant and smoother complexion right after the procedure.
  6. No Downtime: Dermaplaning is a non-invasive procedure with little to no downtime. It’s often considered a quick and convenient treatment option.
  7. Safe for Most Skin Types: Dermaplaning is generally safe for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, it’s essential to consult with a skincare professional to determine if it’s suitable for your specific skin concerns.

It’s important to note that while dermaplaning has numerous benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with active acne or certain skin conditions. Consulting with a skincare professional or dermatologist is recommended to determine if dermaplaning is the right option for you and to ensure the procedure is performed safely and effectively.
