All About Nose Surgeries Direct from Dr. Ferguson
Of all cosmetic procedures, nasal surgery is the most demanding which is why I love it. The anatomy of the external and internal nose is one of the most complex 3-demential (that is not a typo) structures found in nature. Second, this is about all I’m going to say about rhinoplasties. My philosophy on the role of the nose in facial appearance is that it should not be seen. People should focus on your eyes and on your lips, not the thing in the middle. That includes when you look in the mirror. The only purpose for the nose is breathing. It should absolutely not draw attention from the other facial structures. As no two faces are alike, no two noses are alike. This is also true for non-Western patients who often get only an implant thrown on the nasal dorsum. Finally, there are two things you should know about the procedure. I DO NOT PACK NOSES! The only thing worse than having a couple of yards of gauze shoved up your nose is having it pulled out. This dramatically cuts down on bruising and swelling. You can count on me to give you the nose you have always wanted with the absolute best recovery time as well.
